Frake Cladding

We now stock Frake cladding in stock as an alternative to Western Red Cedar. Frake (pronounced 'Frack-E') is a thermally modified hardwood timber. This transforms the timber into a robust and attractive stable cladding material. Frake is virtually knot free giving it a consistent and smooth appearance with rich warm colouring (colour can vary from light to dark brown within packs and between packs). Like all timber Frake will fade to a silvery grey over time unless treated with a UV protector.Frake can contain 'pinholes' as a result of previous insect activity but these are tiny and do not affect the performance or durability of the timber. Any insect activity will have been stopped by the moification process.At Bennetts Timber we currently have a stocks of 23mm x 100mm, 26mm x 130mm and 23 x 150mm Frake to choose from - All FSC Certified 100% - although call us for stock availability.UK wide delivery available.
