Frake (pronounced 'Frack-E') is a modified hardwood timber which originates in West Africa and is then thermally modified by heat treatment, which effectively takes the majority of the moisture out of the wood. This transforms the timber into a robust and attractive stable cladding material. Frake is virtually knot free giving it a consistent and smooth appearance with rich warm colouring. Like all timber Frake will fade to a silvery grey over time unless treated with a UV protector.
At Bennetts Timber we currently have a stock of 23 X 100 Frake Noir - FSC Certified 100% machined to profile BEN F/F0 (18 X 95 fin overall/88MM cover).
