Why We Like Timber
How and why we relate to wood.....
As a living material that forms a large part of the world we live in, literally providing us with the oxygen that we need to breathe; it is no wonder that we feel a certain closeness to wood.
Wood is a natural reminder of the outdoors, of new life and growth, and we feel almost an emotional connection to it.
Wood has been used for centuries all over the world and is again becoming a popular choice of building material today with more new homes being built from timber frames and using exterior cladding as the external skin. It has stood the test of time, it is a 100% renewable resource and it is environmentally friendly, too. Timber is the only mainstream construction material that is 100% renewable, according to Wood For Good
It is a material that speaks to many of our senses; smell, sight and touch. It is both attractive and versatile in its uses, and will continue to help build and protect our world for centuries to come.
Through trapping carbon emissions, it is also helping to protect our planet (see our previous posts for more information).
We’re excited to see how we develop its uses in the near future, but in the meantime if you would like a quote for any of our timber products which are all sourced from sustainable forests call us on 01472 350151.
