Big Rise in House Starts
Consider using timber cladding for your new housing development.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has recently reported an 18% year on year rise in house building starts for the June Quarter 2014, there were increases in both the public and private sectors.
If you are an architect, developer or private individual contemplating the design of a new house or a range of houses, why not consider using external timber cladding as part of the design - whether as a complete external covering or part to compliment the use of other facing materials. Whilst western red cedar cladding tends to be the most popular as a result of it's durability and amazing natural colouring, there are a number of excellent alternatives available too such as Siberian larch, Thermowood D (a thermally modified softwood) and Cumaru (a hardwood species). We have fact sheets and data sheets for all of these timber types.
At Bennetts Tmber we are able to supply all of these species to a number of set profiles including traditional tongue and groove, tongue and groove secret nail and feather edged or we can produce a profile to a customer's own specification, if possible.
It is also becoming increasigly popular to treat cladding with UV protectors, stains, paints or fire retardant material - again we are able to provide this service to customers and will dscuss requirements on an individual basis as well as giving details of approximate lead in times which will be longer if the timber is to be treated in any way.
