Purchase of New Moulder

01 Apr 2008

Bennetts Timber have just Purchaed a New 6 Headed Planer/Moulder from the German Manufacturer Weinig. The new Moulder will installed and running by the middle of May 2008, and will increase our output and flexability. This Machine will replace or 5 Headed Robinson Moulder purchased new by Bennetts in 1974.

Chain of Custody Certification

Bennetts Timber are pleased to announce the we have achieved FSC/PEFC Chain of Custody accreditation, through BM Trada. This enables us to supply our customers with fully certificated timber & Plywood. Should you require any further information please don't hesitate to contact us.

Bennetts Maintain Supply During Timber Shortage

As many of our customers will be aware, through the trade and media, timber in general is in short supply, this is due to many different reasons, heavy demand from the middle east/far east and Europe, shortage of wood, and also high demand in the uk. Fencing materials in particular are in very high demand, due to the high winds in January, which has doubled the demand in fencing this spring, many merchants have been out of fence panels and feather edged boards for weeks, due to the manufactures and suppliers not getting the materials from Scandinavia & Europe.

At Bennetts Timber, we have been able to maintain a constant supply due to a large number of suppliers, which has helped cope with the demand.

There does not appear to be any changes in the market for the foreseeable future, if demand stays at this level.

New Band Saw

In March 2007 we have had a New Stenner Band Re-Saw installed in our Mill.
