As a member of The Timber Trade Federation we follow the Environmental Purchasing Policy of Forests Forever as below.
The company recognises a responsibility to its customers, suppliers and staff to base its activities on well-managed forests.
The Company will only source from suppliers who are operating in accordance with the laws of their country.
The Company will work in partnership with its suppliers and customers to facilitate the flow of the clearest practical information about wood product sources, and will seek from suppliers evidence of good forest management practice at the original source of the relevant product.
The Company will give preference to suppliers who can provide such evidence. Suppliers will be encouraged to demonstrate commitment to progressive improvement in environmental management throughout the wood chain.
The Company will not accept or use labels or certificates which include environmental soundness or claims of sustainability, unless supported by a recognised National standard.
The Company will ensure that all employees associated with timber purchasing are encouraged to act in accordance with this policy and are given appropriate education and training to do so if required.
The Company Managing Director is responsible for the implementation of this policy and will ensure that environmental issues relevant to the policy are discussed regularly at the highest level of management.
